MARC PARE STAYS INSIDE THE PWA TOP 10 AFTER TENERIFE EVENT

2019-08-27

Marc Paré clinched a positive 9th place in the second PWA event of the 2019 campaign in Tenerife. The competition lacked of proper conditions, and it wasn't until the last day that athletes could hit the water for some quality action. No double elimination meant that results were determined to come out from the first ladder, which forced all the sailors to give their maximum from the beginning in order not to drop out of competition in the early stages.

Following his brilliant 6th place in the season opener, Paré was carrying high hopes towards this second round of the series, where he was expecting to deliver as good as in the opening round. His event kicked off quite good indeed, as he was able to get over France's Cloarec to advance to the 3rd round. In that stage of the competition he had to face Alex Mussolini, both gave their maximum in what was an intense and close heat. In the end Paré missed 4th round by just 1 point of difference, which left him in joint 9th.

After Tenerife Paré sits in 9th of the World Ranking, with still two round to go. First one will be Sylt the last weekend of September, after that one Mauii will make its come back to the PWA Wave calendar after one year out of the circuit.

MARC PARÉ STATEMENTS:

"We didn't have good conditions at PWA Tenerife until the last day. Leaving Tenerife with a joint 9th wasn't the result I wanted but feels solid to be sitting in 9th overall and just a few points away from the 7ths. Motivated for the upcoming events".
