4WD POWER, HIGH-END CONTROL
510 USD – 560 USD
The Cafรฉ Racer of windsurfing sails, the Enduro combines bump nโjump wavesailing and freeride performance into one sail. We have designed the Enduro to get you up and planing earlier, and when the wind picks up keep you in control longer. This is the pure essence of windsurfing, no fuss, just fun. Recreational freeriders and bump nโjump enthusists alike chose Enduro for its versatility and manueverability. Stable and forgiving, the Simmer Style Enduro stays efficient through gusts and offers full control at high speeds. This control also makes the Enduro an ideal sail for foiling.
The Enduro features increased efficiency, utilizing traits passed down from our freerace sails. The enhanced shaping profile draws more energy from the mast, which results in exponentially increased power delivery. The new vertical shaping techniques allows us to create a more harmonious sail profile which results in a more even skin tension between all areas of the sail, providing a more balanced and effective rig. The Enduro fits into the range just between the Icon with its manueverbility combined with the power and stability of the V Max. With its manoeuvre-oriented geometry and powerful sail profile, the Enduo allows you to make the most out any conditions that you encounter. Hook a turn or go blasting with your mates, the Enduroโs got you covered.
// Manoeuvre-oriented geometry
// Powerful low-end grunt that gets you going in lighter conditions
// Light weight, yet durable construction
// Wide wind range
// 5.9 to 7.1 rigs on a 430 mast
// Easy rigging and easy tuning
size | boom | luff | mast | rec mast | upgrade mast | top | battens |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
5.4 | 176 | 420 | 400 | SX6 RDM or SDM | SX8 RDM or SDM | adjustable | 5 |
5.9 | 184 | 431 | 430 | SX6 RDM or SDM | SX8 RDM or SDM | fixed | 5 |
6.5 | 197 | 446 | 430 | SX6 RDM or SDM | SX8 RDM or SDM | fixed | 5 |
7.1 | 210 | 456 | 430 | SX6 RDM or SDM | SX8 RDM or SDM | fixed | 5 |
7.8 | 224 | 476 | 460 | SX6 RDM or SDM | SX8 RDM or SDM | fixed | 5 |
RDM vs. SDM
The bend curve of the SDM and RDMโs are compatible with one another, but the RDMโs are more durable, therefore more suitable for punishing wave conditions. SDMโs provide a faster reflex response, better stability, and faster acceleration, especially in lengths of 460 cm or longer, therefore more suitable for flatwater sailing in the larger sizes.
Five Batten Layout
2 // Kevlar Stretch Control Tendons
The Kevlar Stretch Control Tendons distribute the load throughout the sail’s surface from clew to luff. They control the breaking point for the twist, increase the wind range, and increase the sail’s longevity. This is an original Simmer Style feature that many other sail brands have widely adopted.
3 // Precision Tapered Battens
Precision Tapered Battens on the lower two battens. The taper is designed to push the sail profile forward and keep the draft locked in for stability.
4 // Vertical Shaping
Vertical Shaping Techniques allow us to create a more harmonious sail profile which results in a more even skin tension between all areas of the sail, providing a more balanced and effective rig.
5 // Finger Patch Tendons
The Finger Patch Tendons in clew create greater load distribution over a larger area of the sailcloth surface, which increases the durability, as well as the direct handling of the sail.
6 // Stainless Steel O-Ring
The Stainless Steel O-Ring provides the strongest possible connection between the boom outhaul and the sail, providing direct power delivery and sail. Simmer quality defined.
5 MIL X-PLY
The most durable laminate scrim on the market. 100% polyester film, 150 microns thick, with high stretch resilience thread reinforcement in an X-pattern. The layers of film are bonded together with a UV resistance glue. The Icon features X-Ply paneling in the foot panel and clew area to handle wave sailing abuse in harsh conditions.
Made in USA.
MONOFILM
The Enduro features lightweight monofilm for direct handling.
// Materials
The Enduro is the 4WD of the range. It really does get you going nice and early with no effort what so ever. Once your up n'going it's really light in your hands. It has a lot of bottom-end power, so I would say this sail is definitely aimed towards a larger framed rider, someone who needs a little extra help on the bottom end but don't let that fool you, it still has light handling on the top-end and a good wide range on it.
Enduro morphs between a Freeride and Freewave sail, and also works great with foils. Enduro was a favorite at my Windsurfin Academy because of its power and forgiveness. Possibly the most versatile sail ever.
