// PERFORMACE ALL WAVE DESIGN
2,630 USD – 2,800 USD
The Quantex is a high performance wave board that specifically excels in wind swell wave venues. As the name indicates, the Quantex genealogy includes both the Quantum – the original Simmer Style wind swell wave board, and the Cortex – the innovative short rail line Simmer wave board, specifically designed for performance riding in less than ideal conditions. The rocker of the Quantex comes from the original Cortex. Just as the rocker of the Simmer Flywave, it was developed from Kai Katchadourian’s special Peahi board. This means a relatively low rocker in the center of the board combined with a constant curve rocker in the rear part. The main features of this rocker is a high wave riding-speed range. The rocker provides a stable platform in high speed conditions with bigger and choppier waves as well as providing the rider with speed containment in slower onshore conditions.
The central challenge for wind swell performance wave boards is to, provide tight turning board in smaller waves and control bigger waves, which in wind swell locations means chop and high wind. In the Quantex, the mechanism for solving this problem lies in the outline. By fitting a relatively low curvature central outline into a relatively short package, we have achieved to combine stability at high speeds speed with agility at lower speeds. A slighly wider tail that is finished in a jet tail, that is a swallow with the corners chamfered off, provides an excellent platform for early planing and for carrying speed through the bottom turn when winds and waves proves less drive.
The Quantex 109 features a slightly different rocker and outline that combines a slightly longer rail length with single concave to vee-based rocker optimized for carrying heavier sailors and bigger sails.
// The one board solution; super easy and effective in tricky conditions while still being lively with a mean turn
// A semi short tail, with cut-off edges and a small center swallow, gives a snappy bottom turn and lets the board keep its top turn speed in tight turns, despite the fast rocker
// A vee-based rocker with a low mid board curve and a constant curve rear provides performace across a very wide wave riding speed range
// A progressive double concave which absorbs chops and stabilizes the rear end of the board
// Five slot boxes gives the Quantex supreme tunability by allowing the board to be set up as quad, thruster or twin
// A low center vee with the ability to maintain speed to navigate flatter sections of the wave
// Updated pads with dual-density foam, heat pressed grip pattern and tail kick on the 75 L
// New strap design for increased riding comfort

Compact Outline Tail Design
The chamfered tail design allows the board to draw snappier turns when you engage it in rail-to-rail maneuvers. The Quantex features a longer and wider tail needed to navigate flatter sections of the wave with maintained speed and maneuverability.
Contours
An efficient rocker with a progressive Vee with a low-drag midsection for quick planing, as well as speed in less powerful surf. The double concave accelerate towards the tail causing the water flow to follow, absorbing chops and creating drive towards the fins for snappy turns in all conditions.
Parallel outline
The parallel outline converges into the tail area underfoot providing ample lift for early planing and lots of pop for aerials and jumps. The Quantex can easily adapt to different turning angles. With the stance set as far back as possible, the inner angled rear section adds grip in top turns, and extra torque in tight bottom turns.
Double Screw Inserts
Double footstrap inserts for maximum load and adjustable stance settings for tighter or personal preferences to either 14.5 cm or 15.5 cm for the front straps or 14 cm or 15 cm width for the back foot strap.
Dual-Density EVA Foot Pads
Dual-density EVA pads, 4 MM high density top layer with diamond grip + heat pressed dots for superhero traction. The new pads feature a 8 MM soft core heal bumper for maximum riding comfort + tail kick.
SELF REGULATING GORETEX © AIRVENT
The Quantex comes standard with a self-regulating Goretex © Air vent which allows air to pass back and forth between the foam core and the exterior of the board, whilst being completely waterproof. The double-layer membrane of Goretex on either side of a rubber O-ring prevents pressure build-up inside the board, minimizing the risk of delamination caused by overpressure inside the board even during a flight. You’ll never need to unscrew an air vent screw again.
Standard fin setup // TRI
The tri fin setup will provide early planing, great upwind tracking and ease of sailing while still providing an insanely tight turning radius. On the wave, this setup will give you the best possible projection and drive in turns, assisting the sailor in maintaining speed through the bottom turn, even in less powerful waves. Versatility and snappiness with a user-friendly feeling are the main characteristics of this setup.
Alternative fin setup // QUAD
Equipped with a quad fin setup, the Quantex gets more planted and controlled at higher wave riding speeds. The power of the fin cluster acts further forward, which drives the front rail into the water and gives the board added control in turns. At the same time, the shorter depth of the two rear fins makes it easier to dig in the rail at high speeds which means that the board feels more responsive in fast side-shore or cross offshore conditions
New! Carbon Airex Fins
The construction features a carbon/fiberglass exterior, molded with a laminated infusion process onto a Airex foam core structure. This makes the fin extremely lightweight while maintaining strength and stiffness. The Simmer Style composite fins are one of the lightest wave fins on the market; they weigh half the weight compared to traditional G10 fins.
New! Pro Edition Foot Straps
All-new foot strap for the ultimate combination of riding comfort and durability. Features a 7 mm neoprene padding and a large velcro patch for easy adjustment. Screw holes for both single and double screw inserts.
Superior Fittings
Screws for the footstraps and finboxes are made of the highest-grade stainless steel. Both footstraps and Slotbox fins are adjustable with the same tool, the T20 Torx tool included with your board. Super easy, super reliable!
The Quantex is a hell smooth ride going out so you can focus on your jumps, and on the wave, it’s incredibly snappy. Maintaining speed in the bottom turn is effortless. The Quantex is truly a fantastic all-around waveboard. Make sure to try the bigger sizes, they're sick!
I use the Quantex during high-wind days in Pozo when it gets quite choppy, as it is as super smooth ride and really controllable in tricky conditions. It is also really easy to generate speed in the flat section of the wave and quick to whip around to attack the lip. All and all a super sick board to have in your quiver. I ride the 79 L.
Choose the Quantex if you want more maintained speed in less powerful conditions. I choose the Quantex when I want to switch up my approach and bring a bit more creativity to challenging conditions. It's perfect for jumping and riding with plenty of torque and sharp turns. The board is highly adaptable and performs well in nearly any condition. Hookipa or back home on the island in Finland, it's a great board.
