G7 Omnia

// WAVE-FOCUSED FREEWAVE

The new Omnia is a completely new shape from the ground up. It is a classic freewave boards that combines fast and crisp freeride performance with  remarkable abilities also for wave sailing. The board is based on work done with Alessio Stillrich starting in 2021.  Alessio wanted a board that was extremely fast, but at the same time very controlled for radical jumping in Pozo. The board needed to turn well in Alessio’s slashy type of wave riding that is typical of Pozo sailing. For this, we went to the drawing board and developed a new rocker with added curvature from the front-strap-area to the front of the mast track, but with a super fast tail. This we combined with a new vee-profile that is flatter in the center with the vee accelerating both towards the nose and tail. In particularly in the front part of the board, this vee is combined with a double concave. The flat tail rocker gives the boards its high speed stability, with the low center vee providing good pop and agility while the double concave in the front part of the board act as a cushion, making the board a real chop absorber.

When thinking about ideas to the new Simmer Freewave board, we had Alessio’s raving about the combination of speed and control of this bottom profile on our minds and decided to base our new freewave development on it. After some iterations, we ended up with a swallow tail  outline with a relatively wide and  stable nose and a curvature distribution that keeps the tail relatively straight for added grip. Interestingly, now the development went in the other directions and  the outline from the production prototypes was brought  over the Alessios Pozo board. This is the exact shape Alessio recently rode in the 2024 Pozo event and the 75 liter pro model version is now a part of the production lineup, sporting five slot boxes. The rest of the lineup uses the exact same bottom shape and progressively slightly fuller rails on the bigger models. Except for the 75, all sizes have a center powerbox and slot box thruster boxes

The Omnia replaces the Helix. It provides a faster and more agile ride with added performance in waves, while at the same time feeling more fun and exciting in a straightline.

The name Omnia stands for “seize everything,” which explains the board characteristics to the point.

New Tail Design

This new tail configuration takes inspiration from the Flywave’s design DNA, crafted to release earlier for sharper, more dynamic turns, even in less-than-ideal waves. It performs seamlessly in both single-fin and thruster setups. Grip, speed and release that allows you to make the most out of any given day.

Contours
A new vee-profile that is flatter in the center with the vee accelerating both towards the nose and tail. In particularly in the front part of the board, this vee is combined with a double concave. The flat tail rocker gives the boards its high speed stability, with the low center vee providing good pop and agility while the double concave in the front part of the board act as a cushion, making the board a real chop absorber.

Double Screw Inserts + Single Inserts for Freeride Setup
Double foot strap inserts for maximum load and adjustable stance settings for tighter or personal preferences to either 14.5 cm or 15.5 cm for the front straps or 14 cm or 15 cm width for the back foot strap.

The Omnia 75, 86, 96, 106 and 116 features double center inserts + single inserts on the back foot strap for a freeride setup.

Dual-Density EVA Foot Pads

Dual-density EVA pads, 4 MM high density top layer with diamond grip + heat pressed dots for superhero traction. The new pads feature a 8 MM soft core heal bumper for maximum riding comfort + tail kick.

SELF REGULATING GORETEX © AIRVENT
The Omnia comes standard with a self-regulating Goretex © Air vent which allows air to pass back and forth between the foam core and the exterior of the board, whilst being completely waterproof. The double-layer membrane of Goretex on either side of a rubber O-ring prevents pressure build-up inside the board, minimizing the risk of delamination caused by overpressure inside the board even during a flight. You’ll never need to unscrew an air vent screw again.

THRUSTER FIN SETUP
As a Tri-fin, the Omnia blends an ultra-fast freewave rocker with enhanced turning capabilities provided by the shorter center fin. This setup extends the board’s versatility toward dedicated wave performance while preserving the classic ease and agility of a freewave board for straight-line sailing. The tri-fin configuration also lowers the nose, adding control in choppy conditions. Combined with the reduced leverage of the shorter center fin, this design delivers a more controlled and stable ride in overpowered conditions.

Standard fin setup for 75, 86 and 96, alternative fin setup for 106 and 106.

SINGLE FIN
In a single-fin setup, the Omnia transforms into an ultra-fast and stable freewave board, maximizing early planing, upwind capability, and straight-line speed. Its curvy outline and sleek hull design deliver outstanding jibing performance and agile turning, making it equally capable when transitioning into wave riding.

Standard fin setup for 106 and 116, alternative fin setup for 86 and 96.

New! Carbon Airex Fins

The construction features a carbon/fiberglass exterior, molded with a laminated infusion process onto a Airex foam core structure. This makes the fin extremely lightweight while maintaining strength and stiffness. The Simmer Style composite fins are one of the lightest wave fins on the market; they weigh half the weight compared to traditional G10 fins.

New! Pro Edition Foot Straps

All-new foot strap for the ultimate combination of riding comfort and durability. Features a 7 mm neoprene padding and a large velcro patch for easy adjustment. Screw holes for both single and double screw inserts.

Superior Fittings

Screws for the footstraps and finboxes are made of the highest-grade stainless steel. Both footstraps and Slotbox fins are adjustable with the same tool, the T20 Torx tool included with your board. Super easy, super reliable!

Custom Built Carbon Fin Boxes

Our custom-built fin boxes are manufactured from high-density PVC Airex and carbon, which makes them extremely strong and lightweight. This is what allows us to use 5 x slotboxes/ 2 x slotbox + 1 x powerbox without adding too much weight.

Superior Material Selection

We only use the highest quality materials, including the highest grade PVC foams to military grade carbon and fiberglass. All meticulously tested and approved in the world’s toughest test labs – Hookipa, Jaws, Gnaraloo, Pozo, Punta Preta and Luderitz only to mention a few.

Rider Comments

Ben Proffitt

The Omnia brings more liveliness and wave orientation compared to the Helix. It offers an exceptionally smooth ride, making it a superb choice across all conditions. Comfortable for blasting around and catching air, it also delivers sharp, powerful turns on waves. This versatile board is a valuable addition to any quiver, whether as a big-wave board or a high-wind freeride option. Another outstanding design by Ola Helenius, the Omnia stands among the top freewave boards on the market.

Alessio Stillrich

After using the Helix in Cape Town last year, Ola and I began developing a high-wind jumping board for Pozo based on the Helix’s curves, which ultimately became the new Omnia. I used it during the PWA in Pozo this year, and it’s such an easy board to ride—it absorbs chop so you can focus entirely on your jumps. It also delivers a powerful bottom turn.
